POOL
|
See the NOVUS Walkthrough Guide for general information about the system.
The POOL program is used to create the pool of insurers (players on the market) which will write the risk together. Insert the leader in the first field (selected from the list of values by double-clicking in the field, or using the f9 function key), the pool ID and pool name (free text fields).
Tab through to the lower grid, to enter the details of individual pool members, selecting the partner code from the list of values and adding their participation per cent, starting with the lead member.
The same approach can be used for consortia and sub-broker arrangements where the lead is representing a group of other carriers. If the pool is a consortium, it would be suggested that the ID is the consortium number (normally a 9000 number) for the name with members added in the same way.
Field name | Description |
---|---|
Partner A/C pool name | A title that appears on the cover note |
Position | The order in which the members will appear in cover notes |
Account | Partner account code for member |
Percent | Percentage taken by this security |
Pool Member Name | Auto populated from the PARTNER record |
Each member must be added until the percentage totals 100%.
If the lead member is an agency acting on behalf of the carrier market with no participation percentage, they should be set up as the lead member and first participant with zero per cent. The pool members should then be added with their participation until a total of 100% is reached. If the total percentage exceeds 100 per cent, an error message appears when the form is saved.
To query a POOL, the EPOOLS program redirects to the ELINESLIP program.
