COUNTERS

The COUNTERS program displays sequential numbers and counters. The screen shows how the system controls the numbering of all aspects of the business including policy numbers, quotation numbers etc.
The system counters are pre-defined; it is not normally necessary to add a new counter. The database administrator (DBA) will set the counters to required initial values.

| Name | The name used in the program |
| Remarks | Short description of where the counter is used |
| Prefix | The character used as a prefix or suffix to the counter |
| B / E | Indicates whether the prefix appears at the (B)eginning or the (E)nd of the counter |
| Counter | Last number used by the counter |
| Incr | Value by which the counter will increase with each use |
| Sequence Name | System name given to the counter |
| Seq. Value | Fully formed counter value including designated prefix/suffix |
Modifying a Counter
Should these counters need to be changed or updated for any reason please consult the System Administrator. If you are the system administrator please consult with Morning Data about the ramifications of changing numbers.
Modifications to counters should only be performed after discussions with Morning Data.
